Itinerary
You will be picked up early in the morning at 7:00 a.m. from your hotel or residential place in Nairobi. Upon pickup, we will depart for Maasai Mara and drive north, ascending the Great Rift Valley for breathtaking views and photography. The Rift Valley was formed millions of years ago, stretching some 5,000 miles from Jordan to Mozambique; it’s the largest rift in Africa. We will drive to Narok town for a health break. Thereafter, proceed to Maasai Mara, arriving in good time and checking in at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge/Budget Tented Camp around 1:00 p.m. We will then have lunch at the lodge.

After freshening up, we will go for an evening game viewing drive from 3:00 p.m. until around 6:30 p.m. The Maasai Mara is arguably Kenya’s most famous reserve. Its smooth grass-carpeted hills and plains dotted with flat-topped acacia trees are full of rich faunal diversity, fulfilling the expectations of any visitor searching the African landscape for the Big 5. Located west of the Great Rift Valley, Mara is a natural extension of the Serengeti plains in neighboring Tanzania. The Mara River, the reserve’s backbone, traverses north to south. This course is the natural barrier crossed each year by large migratory herds of wildebeest and zebra, which march across the two parks in search of pasture, crossing en route the crocodile-infested Mara River. Coupled with ever-watchful predatory cats in the midst, the annual migration is a risky affair fraught with peril. Morning and evening game drives through the Mara reserve give you a chance to spot a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffe, black rhino, cheetah, gazelle, buffalo, hippo, various other herbivores, and bird species. Drive back to the lodge for an overnight stay.
After an early morning breakfast at 6:00 a.m., start a game viewing drive across the rich savannah grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard, and cheetah but also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found here in the Mara. You will have a picnic lunch at the heart of Mara in the grassland. Proceed with the game drive on the way back to the lodge/budget tented camp and arrive around 2:45 p.m. The remaining period will be spent enjoying the lodge/budget tented camp, relaxing, and familiarizing yourself with the various facilities at the lodge, including Wi-Fi, Fitness Centre, Swimming Pool. You can order some drinks at the restaurant or take a nature walk at the lodge as it has a serene environment or spend some good time in your accommodation rooms. Dinner will be served from 7:30 p.m. as you prepare for an overnight stay or bonfire.
After breakfast at 9:00 a.m., we will check out and depart for the Maasai Village for the Maasai Village Tour. Here, we will have enough time to interact with the Maasai people, learn their culture, experience their cultural dances, learn the art of fire making, and their lifestyles among many others. Thereafter, we will depart from the Maasai Village to Nairobi. We will have a stopover at Narok town for a quick lunch, which is self-sponsored, as we head back to Nairobi and arrive around 6:30 p.m.
